ASPIRE

|

|
Together with St
Nic’s Church, we are working with Nottingham’s
homeless community to meet their most basic and
immediate needs through the provision of food
and clothing.
Aspire is a gateway project, providing service
users with an access point, through Rally, into
treatment and rehabilitation services.
Aspire currently operates three evenings a week.
An average evening sees between 50 and 60 people
served.
The project marks the coming together of two
long standing city based initiatives, both of
which have an excellent reputation and are considered
vital to Nottingham’s homeless community.
Around sixty volunteers are currently involved
in delivering the service, either through serving
on one of the evenings or helping to prepare food.
All are passionate about and committed to equipping
people to change their lives for the better, whilst
meeting their immediate needs.

CHRISTIANS
AGAINST POVERTY

|

|
came to the Christian Centre
in 2007. It offers a free debt counselling service
to anyone, regardless of belief, to the people
of the Nottingham area.
Debt affects people from all walks of life. It
is so easy to get into, and so difficult to get
out of. Sadly the effects on people’s lives
can be devastating, depression, marriage breakdown
and despair to name but a few. Christians Against
Poverty not only believe in offering people a
sustainable solution to their debt problem, but
also a hope for the future by revealing to clients
the God who loves them.
If you or someone you know needs help and advice,
please speak to Carol McCusker at the Nottingham
Central CAP office on 0115 9475947 or send an

JERICHO
ROAD PROJECT

|

|
The Jericho Road
Project works with many of Nottingham’s
street prostitutes and is run in partnership with
St. Andrew’s Church.
The project undertakes street outreaches three
times a week, where the women are provided with
food, drinks and the opportunity for a chat. A
prison visiting team meet the women as they serve
sentences and helps with their resettlement on
their release.
Many of the women visit the project’s base,
where further help can be offered to help them
make positive lifestyle changes.

OPERATION
RUDOLPH

|

|
Operation Rudolph
is a Christmas project providing hampers to disadvantaged
families and individuals in Nottingham.
Since its launch over five years ago, more than
£250,000 worth of stock has been distributed
and thousands of families and individuals helped.
Last year, hampers, which are sponsored at a
cost of £20 each, included family tickets
to the pantomime at Nottingham’s Theatre
Royal. Thanks to corporate donations and the ability
to bulk buy, the value of each of the 1000 hampers
given away was around £100.
We work with Nottingham City Council, women’s
hostels, refugee agencies, local schools and other
charities to identify recipients. Further information
can be found on the website at:
