The Bible opens with a bold statement “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” We see a timing and an action but who is this ‘God’? The Bible does not seek to justify who God is or over elaborately introduce him. His pre-existence and power become evident as history unfolds.

How can you and I know such a personality? The Christian message is that God ‘made’ himself visible, approachable and knowable when Jesus was born in Bethlehem.

In these early weeks of a New Year full of possibility and opportunity God would enjoy being involved with your life – its dreams and aspirations, its chaos and confusion, its hopes and fears.

The longer I personally know Him the more humbled I am that He bothers and more confident that He cares.
