The Christian Centre is a large and thriving multi-cultural Church
in the heart of our city of Nottingham, with nearly 1400 people
part of our vision and involved in its various ministries.
With God's favour, we have become one of the larger Churches
in the UK. We are passionate about the message of Jesus Christ
and are comitted to making a difference in our city and beyond.
Our vision statement is:
| A Cathedral
of Living Stones for the Glory of God |
| Reaching the Lost |
Equipping the Church |
Serving the Poor |
A Cathedral of Living Stones means a place where
people of all ages and backgrounds come together, serve in
their area of passion and use their God given gifts to make
a difference. As a 'cathedral' we believe we are called to
be a large, city centre Church which impacts the wider Nottingham
area, the UK and abroad. Our current ministries reflect our
mission to reach those who are not part of Church, equip people,
and serve the disadvantaged.
The Christian Centre is a 'Pentecostal' Church,
part of a massive worldwide network of other similar Churches.
We are affiliated to and also to . As you can see from our work helping others
in Nottingham, we work in partnership with many other churches
and organisations in the region.
The Church began as a small gathering of Christians
meeting in a house in 1928 in the Lace Market. It quickly
became a small Church, growing steadily over the following
decades and became based at its current premises on Talbot
Street in the 1970's. Today, we are a vibrant Church of nearly
1400 people representing a wide range of ages, cultures and
backgrounds. David Shearman is Senior Minister and has been
leading the Christian Centre since 1977.
Nearly 80 years later, with our building at
capacity, we have the opportunity to build new larger facilities
- opposite our current building - to house our growing Church,
which currently has to meet over three services on a Sunday.
We are excited about this next step in our journey and you
can find out more information in the of this site.
